The theme: A women led hackathon
To empower the women aspiring to work in the space industry and to give them a platform to show off their talent, we are proud to announce that this year we will have a women-led hackathon.
The ideal team will have 5 participants, out of which 3 should be women.
The teams will compete to build the best applications possible to operate a constellation of satellites – we will even have a mini control room for the conference attendees to experience what it takes to be a satellite operator!
Who can participate?
Students and young professionals can apply. The teams should have at least 3 frontend developers. The rest of the team may consist of space engineers and/or UX/UI designers.
Individuals and small groups can also apply. If you can’t build your own dream team, you will be paired with other applicants (e.g. if you wish to be in the same team with two friends but can’t find a fourth and fifth member, you can register as a group of three and other member(s) will be added to your team if your application is successful.
Who will compete?
After receiving the applications, the Leanspace team will screen all of the profiles carefully. After the screening, shortlisted teams (and individual applicants) will be offered an interview. At the end of this process, we will select 3 teams of 5 members each to compete in the Hackathon!
Your Ultimate Goal!
Build a satellite operations application for SpaceTech Expo attendees. They will be using this application to operate satellites and fulfill imaging requests.
The Challenge!
How to win?
Winners will be selected based on several criteria: Scores based on user experience (evaluated by Space Tech Expo attendees), innovation, processes (operation concept, application design), and presentation skills.
Rules and Regulations
